The truth is, between playing Jasmine and Aladdin with my grandfather on the kitchen rugs or listening to my mom sing “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” in the car while I memorized every word in the backseat, I couldn’t tell you which love came first, but my passion for photography came shortly after; little me documenting everything I could with any camera I could get my hands on.

I’m Jadea. Jay-duh. The alternative mother. The feeler of feels. The extrovert who needs some space. The big-mouthed softy. A hater of small talk and lover of real shit. I am a professional family photographer. I am a mother with anxiety who has experienced incredible joy in this journey called motherhood and also hit rock bottom more than once. I am passionate about womxn, their rights, and equality in parenthood, partnerships, pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. I am living my dream, getting to tell the stories of families of all shapes, sizes, colors, and structures.

Becoming a mother has changed the way I document families. Not only the journey into and through parenthood, but who we are outside of it. Not the ending of the chapter, but an awakening to what the whole story was always meant to be. This IS their childhood - it is also your motherhood.

I tell it how it is - maybe a little too often. My heart for being honest and real doesn’t stop when I put my camera down. It radiates into all of my relationships and passions. I am 100% empath. I am a Cancer sun AND moon, an ENFJ, an enneagram 4, and I LOVE TO FEEL. While I struggle to see it every day, I do believe it is my greatest asset. I draw from each experience, embrace each emotion, and I reflect that in my work.
